La Restinga
Laguna de La Restinga National Park: boat rides through mangrove channels and a long, wild beach on the strip of land joining Margarita's two halves.
La Restinga is a national park built around a lagoon on the narrow strip of land that joins the main part of Margarita to the Macanao peninsula. Local boatmen take visitors through tunnels of mangroves, where you can spot seabirds and see oysters clinging to the roots.
The boats end at a long, wild beach facing the open sea — a quiet, natural side of the island that makes a perfect half-day trip.
